una serenata a Bolivia//thinking into next week

Siempre había versiones de "Paloma Negra" también. as I call the memory to the surface, I feel my longing so acutely..

AMARU - Serenata a Bolivia (1976) // CUECA

LOS KJARKAS - Saya Cochabamba

OH COCHABAMBA QUERIDA
(Cocha is where I spent the most of my time and there's so much to say about this song... and the video featuring the most wealthy parts of the city in the North and none of the southern city or campo....for another conversation, again...)

we spent the night in a eucalyptus grove on the top of Isla del Sol during the most powerful storm we'd ever experienced. we could set up in the grove, or under corrugated tin roofs, so the grove seemed to be the slightly more secure option... lightning would illuminate the entire tent as if high-noon and the three of us would stare intently into the faces of the others, gripping one another's hands as the hail pounded down on our little tent and thunder cracked overhead. the storm cleared finally around dawn and we slept about an hour before waking and taking this photo and continuing our mini-backpacking trip across the island.
y el anhelo surge de nuevo....
